In Session I you'll learn all about the basics of kayaking, focusing on the required gear and also learning a handful of strokes.
In Session II you'll work on the various rescue and recovery techniques used on the water, just in case you ever capsize or swamp. This will included self rescue, and assisted rescues as well. Sorry no eskimo rolling yet, but we'll get you there someday!
Both clinics are held on the water so please dress for the weather and plan on getting a little wet.
Session I is offered the first Wednesday and Thursday (6-8 pm) of each month, June - August. Cost is $35.*
Session II is offered the third Wednesday and Thursday (6-8 pm( of each month, June - August. Cost is $35.*
June 9 and 10: Goose Island, North landing
June 23 and 24: Fisherman's Road landing
July 7 and 8: Onalaska Spillway (Spillway Dr., below the spillway)
July 21 and 22: Lake Neshonoc, main landing
August 4 and 5: Black River Beach, behind Powerhouse Marine
August 18 and 19: Fisherman's Road landing
*Take both Session I and II and pay only $60!
